WTF??? What happened to the LJ Scrapbook???

Did LJ completely trash their old scapbook management system sometime in the last year?  You used to be able to create hierarchical "albums,"  which could be viewed in multiple ways, easily rearranged and labeled.  There was a "picture" view that let you see all the pictures in a particular album and check the ones you wanted to include in a post. All that seems to be gone. My pictures are still there, but the albums are only visible in large icon view arranged alphabetically. I can't find any way to rearrange pictures, or select multiple pictures to post.

I was going to post some pictures of my trip, but I have no idea how to do it now.

Yeah, they changed Scrapbook. There are still ways to post images to your LJ -- I just did that with the image of my Dad's house on Tuesday, and when I did, there was a way to select multiple images in the album. At least, I think there was.

I haven't found a way to organize the order of images within an album, which is utterly maddening.

That's a deal-breaker for me. But the worst part is that they seemed to have completely abandoned the hierarchical list view for albums. I was wrong - they don't seem to be displaying alphabetically. Maybe it's chronologically. But if so, it's reverse order. So to see the new album I just created I have to click through THREE PAGES of enormous thumbnail icons!! What were they thinking???

img src="" is what I've been using this whole time. I was unaware of this album thing. That sounds like it would have been very convenient.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got till it's gone...

I kind of gave up on LJ's photo-hosting capabilities a long time ago. I couldn't upload images to a new album. There was probably a way to do it, but I couldn't figure it out, so everything went into a previously created "misc" album. I was able to use the photos in LJ posts, but they weren't organized. Haven't tried things since.

If I want a third party photo=hosting to link to, I either use my own site or Shutterfly.com.

(Yes, it's one of the reasons I like FB. I have 13,337 photos on Facebook, they claim, in less than four years of social networking. The number alone would blow out LJ, and I can get other people to annotate the photos and easily update captions and galleries.)
