There was a paper sign sticking up out of the snow on my street this morning announcing no parking on Wednesday because of STREET SWEEPING.

They swept our street last week, between blizzards. I find it comforting, really.

We have signs again today; It hink it must be for tree trimming.

But there's 4 inches of slush in the streets! How can they sweep them?

Clever of the city, actually. They can't declare a snow emergency after April 1, but if the street is posted for sweeping, they can tow your car if they need to.

The city is following a prearranged schedule for street sweeping, which is actually posted online. I can see why they thought it would normally be safe to start scheduling spring cleaning for the last week in April. I'm just wondering if they are actually planning to go through with it.

My guess is 'no.' I'd think that sweeper wouldn't work well with a bunch of ice and snow mucking everything up.
