On the advice of [livejournal.com profile] mle292 I have joined Freecycle. My first posting is an old Motorola flip-style cell phone. It's 10-15 years old and a completely "stupid phone" (not even a camera!) but it takes a charge and probably works. Since I also found the car-charger for it, I thought someone might want it as an emergency car phone.

If anybody here is interested, let me know.

So far, the freecycle faries have been good to me.

The first person to reply to the snow-blower last year was quite flakey, but once we moved on to the next respondent it was someone with very cohesive poop. Other than the mentioned flakyness, it's only been positive experiences with listing stuff and having someone show up and make the unwanted stuff magically disappear.

I already got a query, but she was looking for a Verizon phone and this one is AT&T. I forgot to specify in the listing. Is there any way to edit a listing once it is submitted? I don't see any way to do that.

I don't know if it's possible or not. Let me know if you find anything.

I don't think you can edit a listing once posted, because it gets sent to the mailing list, but you can send a new message as an update.

Yes; I've found it very handy when I've had to move house. One of my most memorable give-aways was some bookshelves to a woman who regularly brings book donations to women in prison.
