Whee! It's time for the first political scandal of 2014!
This writer Carpes the Diem to look back on other equally entertaining past scandals before wending its way back to the origin of the xxx-Gate nomenclature. I particularly love the photo of Bob Packwood, which is almost too good to be true (journalistically speaking).

Well, when you put it that way it sounds like a good thing.

But if honor and dignity is too much to expect (which apparently it is), I think we at least deserve to be entertained.
