LJ's new homepage is ugly as sin. There's far too much whitespace, forcing a completely unnecessary scroll operation to see the bottom of the page. There's something wrong with the way the default font displays, with random bits of the letters sort of gangrenous looking.

And the ""View Friends Feed" button doesn't work, at least in Chrome.

I see that the New Entry page is using the same hideous new style.

When I first logged in I saw a link to display the old format. But I didn't take it, and now it's too late - can't find it. Has anybody found a way to revert to the old look?

The Friends Feed button works in Chrome but it takes a really long time to load.

You can revert back to the old way by clicking on a button that appears when you click on the cloud with the ? in it - top left.

Hmmm. I can't find a page that looks like this at all. How did you get here? Is this the header on your profile page?

It's not clear to me why you would want to go to LJ's home page. Just go directly to username.livejournal.com/friends -- you can even log in there if necessary.

Actually, I guess it's my profile page that I'm talking about. The home page is just weird - a bunch of truncated posts from people I've never even heard of.

I guess I could just bookmark my friends page. But I'd like to be able to use my profile page occasionally, and this remake is completely unusable, IMHO.

THANK YOU, fengi! Sure enough, there's an invisible icon there. It's probably the cloud with the question mark in it, just drawn in blue on a blue background.

As for the swears in the headline - I couldn't have phrased it better.
