An unworthy thought

A couple of news items, separated by several years, finally came together in my head.

Remember back when everybody was wondering whether Cheney's heart (physical, not metaphorical) was up to the stresses and responsibility of the vice-presidency, and then he got this fabulous space-age pacemaker-defibrillator and he was all fine again? Well, gosh. Wouldn't it be a shame if Cheney's defibrillator turned out to be one of those with the defect that makes it short out?

It appears that Cheney's defibrillator was made by Medtronic (http://www.gwhospital.com/p8239.html). Googling for "Medtronic defibrillator" doesn't appear to show that the model implanted in him is one of the ones with battery problems.
