How 'bout them Vikings?

Now it would be a massive understatement to say that I don't follow football. I was grumpy about my city getting suckered into running the Superbowl AGAIN, and until yesterday it hadn't even occurred to me to wonder who might be playing in it. But yesterday's game was impossible for even me to ignore. I mean, THAT'S the way to end a "once-in-a-lifetime-important" Final Playoff Game! Jeez! Holy buckets!! *
So now we get to play in the Superbowl in our own town, right? Right?
What's that? It wasn't really the Final Playoff Game after all? We have to do it AGAIN next week?? I'm not sure my limited sports attention span is up to that. But I sure did enjoy flipping through all those online pictures of the expressions on everybody's faces when, um... that guy caught that pass. Dang. I knew his name a minute ago, but it's slipping away. Devon something? Well, good job, Devon!!
* As we say in Minnesota when unbearably excited

Date: 2018-01-19 08:47 pm (UTC)This was only the second game. In the very unlikely event that they beat the Philadelphia Eagles at the Eagles' home field, then they will play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium -- a thing that hasn't happened in the entire history of the Super Bowl.
I am hopeful, but not confident.
(I don't really follow football, but I follow the Vikings and, as of a few years ago, watch all the playoff games.)
