I've been losing faith in the creators of Lost. I don't think they have any idea where the story is going or a coherent back story for the island. Which I wouldn't mind so much if the characters were developing in a consistent way, but that's not happening - the writers are just trying to push random buttons in the viewers' brain pans and don't care whether their creations have any integrity or psychological believability.

Or maybe it's just that the most recent episode of Lost was so ugly and senseless that I'm not sure I want to watch it any more.

Invasion, on the other hand, is getting better and better. The plot has developed slowly, but it's clear that there is a consistent and fairly complex science fiction story unfolding. And the characters have real, believable, personalities that become clearer and more nuanced with time. I'm particularly impressed by the kids, who actually behave like kids. And the sheriff, who is simultaneously totally creepy and strangely sympathetic - definitely the pivotal character on the show and a hell of an actor.

I've also been disappointed in the last few episodes of Lost. I think that is what the writers are currently.
