Two Good Movies
Feb. 20th, 2006 04:24 pmI have seen two very well-made, thought-provoking movies in the last 3 days, and they are both rumbling around in my mind together.
Friday night, Edina Theater: Mrs. Henderson Presents. If you liked Topsy Turvy you'll probably like Mrs. Henderson, unless you absolutely cannot STAND WWII-era popular music. I liked it a lot.
Sunday night, my attic: Crash. A really good movie. I was afraid it was going to be one of those films whose only goal in life is to depress the audience, but about halfway through some rays of hope start to appear and it ends up being kind of uplifting. In a dark way. One of the brightest moments was towards the end, when the carjacker finally discovers something so morally repulsive that even he won't do it.
