The universe kids live in
Feb. 8th, 2020 08:54 am I am reminded how many strange and alternate "facts" about the world kids get from each other. Lena picks up a lot of dubious information from her friends Tristan and Olivia (who have an elf living in the their basement! For real! Tristan has seen it). The most peculiar factoid that she has shared with us is this one. If a cat eats Play-Doh it grows TEN NEW HEARTS! Amber and I expressed doubt about this, but she had moved on to the idea that real hearts are not shaped like hearts in cartoons and Valentines cards (okay, that one was true). Then she wanted to see pictures of a real human heart, which is an easy request to fulfill in these Internet days. She was grossed out by the real hearts and the idea that she had one of those disgusting pieces of meat inside of her. The really hard to believe part is that it is always beating. Really? All the time? Even at night? And what are those strange spiky things sticking out of the top of the heart? She had a hard time with the whole concept of the circulatory system.
