Time out for a baby break

 Had a lovely Skype session with Oregon this morning with Lena demonstrating a new technique for playing with an exercise ball and at least 45 minutes of baby time. The babies lay on their backs on the floor for the first 15 minutes staring in wonder at the giant Gramma and Grandpa faces on the TV before getting bored and moving on to other activities. Harris rolled over on his tummy and practiced all his pre-crawling exercises, even briefly rocking back and forth in the full hands and knees position. Leo lay on his back and kicked (naturally) and then showed off an enthralling new game he has invented. He grabs a piece of any handy blanket, pulls it over his face, extends his arms in a relaxed position and just lies there. Amber says he has been doing this a  lot, and hopes he isn't exhibiting a self-asphyxiation fetish. It is unclear whether he is hiding, just enjoys the feel of fabric on his face, or has realized that he can get a rise out of his parents by triggering their carefully conditioned terror that their baby might be about to smother himself. When he wasn't doing that he was chewing on his recently discovered toes ("Hey, look at that! There are toys on the ends of my legs!"), or giggling at Lena as she flitted around him doing things that would be incredibly annoying to anybody that wasn't a baby. Fun times.
