Another childhood milestone that's not what it once was. sigh  In normal times, this would be a picture of Lena getting on the bus to head off to her first day of school with tearful parents waving. But here she is preparing to go back in the house and log on to the Chromebook that the school sent her so she can meet her teacher.

I know - I feel bad for her that she is missing that first day of kindergarten but she's just excited that she has HER OWN COMPUTER.

How are your kids doing with remote learning?

Yes, ours were super excited about getting their own laptops. Of course they are only allowed for school during the day and then are checked in to overnight storage. Their school is doing hybrid but we opted for distance learning so we can continue to see my grandmother. It's going very well for one and less well for the younger one who in general needs more structure and connection then her teacher offers. We made it through day 3 without any tears though so that's an improvement.
