Oh my gosh, how cute! I especially like the picture in which a young reader peruses a magazine. Actually, I like the picture of the granddaughter being helped to extend the neck of a bright green dinosaur, with a grandfather's help. That one made me smile as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! It's actually a newspaper, as we are one of the last people on the planet to still have a daily subscription to our hometown paper. The boys have never seen a newspaper before. Harris likes looking at pictures and is fascinated by the way things work, so he thought the newspaper was a neat new way to look at pictures.
I'd wondered about whether that was a newspaper, but I guess I've gotten so used to people not reading hard copy newspapers that I thought it was ridiculous to use the word "newspapers". This retired newspaper reporter thanks you!
Lena does look really grown up all of a sudden. She is still small for her age, but has totally changed shape. Last time she was here, at age 4, she looked like an inexplicably verbal and self-assured 3-year-old. Now (age 6) she looks like a miniature second grader. It's a little disorienting.
