Making ice

Continuing with the theme of Adjusting to Summer, I decided to make some ice. We have this wonderful freezer in the basement (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] minnehaha!) with about 2 dozen empty ice cube trays on the top shelf. (Ice evaporates, you know, if you leave it there long enough.) So I decided to start a project to make ice and put it in ziploc bags so it would be there when I needed it. Making ice on a large scale is a lot like crafting in a computer game (making potions, manufacturing lawn dwarfs). Extremely tedious, but vaguely satisfying in the end. Did you know it takes about 5 ice cube trays to fill one gallon bag?

I didn't know that. I'm sufficiently lazy that if I needed that much ice I'd go buy a bag. (Plus I don't have that much freezer space.) :)
