Looking back on Memorial Day weekend
May. 30th, 2006 08:23 pmIt was a great success, as rejuvenating at-home vacations go. Attended two wildly different backyard barbecues which were both extremely enjoyable. The first was in suburban Roseville. It featured a chance to swim in a real lake, relax in big rooms with central A/C, and have great conversations with aging radicals. The 2nd was much livelier and all-outdoors, allowing realtime observation of the bravura performances of the tag-team pair of cooks and good views of dozens and dozens of tatoos. I finished up that party lying in a hammock watching the clouds turn from pink to salmon to grey and feeling very mellow.
I also fit in another long telephone computer lesson with my Mom, two vigorous exercise sessions, and enough household chores so I didn't feel completely guilty for just hanging out all weekend.
