The decrepit old kitchen drawers look the same on the outside, but now they all have beautiful new bamboo organizer trays inside, expandable for perfect fit! Yes, that is what I spent my week doing. It’s not like we retirees don’t keep busy.

There's something so pleasing about bamboo's appearance. I have a dozen or so wooden spoons and one bamboo one, and although they all need hand-washing and are used for essentially the same things, I always reach for the bamboo spoon and sometimes even do so if I have to wash it on the spot.

Bamboo is not only pretty, it FEELS nice, which might be why your hand always goes to that spoon first. Bamboo socks have a good feel too.
