What should I listen to? I'm not likely to keep it, but it gives me a chance to sample some new music and see what I like.
Of course not having the most adventurous tastes in music, my first inclination is to listen to some Dylan albums I never got around to buying and that kind of thing.

I really don't like most music, so just random selections aren't going to work. I mostly like folk music (esp  but not exclusively trad), old rock and roll, and some country (upbeat and/or clever, not the slow whiny kind). Where should I start? Or should I just stick to old Dylan tracks?

This is very chancy, of course, but you might take a look at Thea Gilmore. She's a British singer/songwriter who was raised on Dylan and Fairport Convention. She has a gorgeous voice -- she was chosen by a very thorough Sandy Denny Preservation group whose name I've spaced to finish and sing a bunch of songs Denny left unfinished at her death.

Gilmore has a whole bunch of Dylan covers, and also in 2011 just went ahead and covered the entirety of his album John Wesley Harding. I'm a huge Dylan fan, but I also love covers of his songs, and hers are great. Of her numerous original albums, I think I'd start with Avalanche.
