I walked out into the steamy twilight in search of coffee beans. Although I usually buy coffee in unimaginative locales like Cub Foods, it occurred to me that when you live in the city you are never more than a mile from a coffee shop, and coffee shops usually sell coffee beans. So I walked over to Anodyne. There was no sign of rain when I started out, but before I made it back a black cloud blew in out of nowhere and on the way back I got soaked!!

Well, hard to complain about rain when you're on the verge of a drought. Good on ya', little storm!

And still looking pretty dry out there this morning. I hear we're due for more on Monday.

...it occurred to me that when you live in the city you are never more than a mile from a coffee shop...

A few years back, when I lived in Linden Hills, my sister called me prior to coming down for a visit. She wanted to make sure there was someplace where we could go get coffee, and after a little mental calculation I told her, "There are seven within a two block area, and two of the places roast their own beans."

She decided that I lived in heaven.
