Logging my activities for this weekend should be pretty easy - I'm being sick. Blecch. Started coming down with a cold on Friday, spent all day Saturday huddling inside, blowing my nose and feeling sorry for myself. Spent most of my time listening to MPR and practicing embroidery in my new, over-lit sewing room, or obsessively playing Boggle on my Palm Pilot. I mended a beloved pillowcase by embroidering an ugly flower over the hole, and developed enough confidence to start embroidering a large flower on my cotton-tencel jacket. Also managed to score over 100 on Boggle a few times (but only when I gave myself 6 minutes or more to complete the round). I'd feel a lot better about my Boggle scores if the program didn't remind me every time that I scored, say, 108 out of a possible 595 points.

Today I'm feeling somewhat better, but I can't take advantage of the suddenly pleasant fall weather because my fall colds tend to veer suddenly into bronchitis and asthma if I breathe cold air when I'm sick. I think it would be safe to creep out to the car and drive to my health club, the branch that has the steam room. I haven't had any exercise since Wednesday, which makes me antsy. And there's nothing very interesting on MPR on Sunday afternoon.

Sorry to hear you're not well. Hope you get better soon!

That Boggle game for the Palm - what model Palm are you running it on, and how much did it cost? I picked up a TX earlier in the month and wouldn't mind having something other than solitaire on there. (What I'd really like is Civilization, but one has to be realistic about these things. ^_^)

Free. Go to www.wordwiggle.com. You have to register, but don't worry about it, it's not a spam harvester, just some people who are seriously intense about playing Boggle. What they really want is for you to join them and play online. So far, I'm so intimidated by the number of words that I miss every time that I haven't tried online play.

There are some pretty amazing games available for the newer Palms, including strategy games. Some are free, some cost a few bucks. I downloaded one called Village Sim, which is sort of Sim City on a desert island. I haven't really tried it yet, but it looks really cool. At least the trial game is free - there might be a cost to play the full one. If you like pattern games, Bubblet and Bejeweled are very addictive. They are either free or very cheap. I don't recall, since I got Bubblet for my old Palm long ago and it still works on my new Tungsten E2. Most of my old games do not work on the Tungsten, so I went looking for new ones.

We should gather a group of people and play Boggle on line! You, minnehaha K., myself...

Ahhh. I had to say it. I play alot of Boggle when I'm not in school, I try to avoid it when I am. I'm not saying I'm really good just enthusiastic.:)

What, you don't like Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me?

I LOVE Wait, Wait! But that one comes out as a podcast, and I listen to it while biking, etc. My very fave program, This American Life, is not podcast so I try to catch it in real time. 3pm Saturday, also rebroadcast sometime Sunday evening.

I'm sorry to hear that you're sick. A steam room sounds like a good idea. Please let me know if you need hep with anything while you and Richard are recuperating.

I'm fine, but Richard isn't doing too well. I'll tell him of your offer, just in case he runs into trouble when I'm not here. His foot seems to be a little better each morning, but then he bumps it on something and it gets worse again. I went down to Snyder's and got him a cane and an Ace bandage and he's managed to get through the day without hurting it again. Thanks for being concerned.

My schedule is flexible for the most part (dentist on Tuesday) so I'd be happy to help at need.

I suppose even with an x-ray there's not much to do beyond immobilizing the injury and letting it heal.

Goodness!

Get well, my dear.
And we have Linux class for the next 3 days.
(I can't comprehend getting up at 6am to get there...)
That ought to really make the cold worse! :)

Wow, you posted! How sweet. I'm about over the cold, provided it doesn't turn into a chest cough. I'm beginning to be sorry I signed up for the Linux class. Oh well. I think I can get there on time if I get up at 6:45, provided I decide the night before what to wear. We'll see.
