Yesterday I was definitely coming down with a cold. Today I'm in the in-between stage, between the initial sore throat/swollen glands (my colds ALWAYS start that way) and the next phase, which will be either runny nose or cough. I slept as long as I could make myself stay in bed this morning, and I've been taking 1000mg of Vitamin C every couple of hours, including every time I woke up at night.

It's possible that positive thinking and Vitamin C will short-circuit the whole illness thing and I won't get the nasty next set of symptoms. At least I think it's worked sometimes. I'm not sure, though, I might be kidding myself. I actually feel quite a bit better today than I did yesterday. So much better that I'm thinking of going skating, 'cause it's really beautiful outside.

Okay, this is a really boring post. I'm mostly making it for historical purposes. Maybe next time I feel much better on the 2nd day of a cold I'll know what it means, which well help me decide whether I should go out or not.

I've been fighting one that started the same way as yours since Monday. Taking lots of 1000mg time-release C's. I stayed home Tue and Wed, got pretty tired at work on Thur and Fri, stayed home today and rested. I think it will be gone by morning now. I usually shake them quicker than this, I think it's the bitter cold weather that weakened me in the first place.

Good luck and feel better!

Thanks, you too. Sounds like you've got a powerful immune system there, and you know how to use it. ;-)
