You're not a moment too soon, 2021. I'm sure you can feel the love from all over the world. May you be more agreeable than your predecessor (talk about a low bar!)

So far, the new year is going fine. The sun is shining, there's a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground, and the temperature is well above zero. Even though I was up until 2am watching virtual fireworks, drinking B&B, and enjoying a couple of excellent virtual parties, I had a morning burst of energy that hasn't dissipated yet. That's already a huge improvement over almost all of December, which was gray and depressing.
I heard from a friend who just bought new cross-country skis, which is GREAT because it means I might have someone to ski with! Skiing has been my one and only winter outdoor exercise for the past 40+ years, but I don't like to ski alone because I am a terrible skier and am afraid I might fall down and hurt myself. Lisa and I made tentative plans to go skiing this weekend, which looks like perfect ski weather for a wimpy skier: no falling snow, no gale force winds, not too cold, and not too slushy. If that works out my mood will improve significantly. She'll probably get tired of my pokey pace before long, but at least it will get me out there.
I was planning to start the day by putting up my 2021 wall calendar, but I can't quite figure out where I stashed it. But on the plus side, while looking for it I was inspired to do some major filing and have filled a bag with excess paper to be recycled, which feels productive.
Now if I can just find that calendar, all will be well. How's your new year going so far?
