Convergence was fine. It was pretty much like it always is. I think I'm just getting tired of it. Anyway, the best day of my weekend was Friday, the part where I was putting off going to the con because the weather was so beautiful. Oh well.

There were a few high points, all of them random encounters with people I already knew but now know somewhat better. Maybe it was worth it just for that. Or maybe not. I dunno, I still haven't recovered. And each of the next three weekends has high-intensity people commitments attached to it. At the moment, it all seems too exhausting to contemplate. If I could still bike to work like last year I think I'd feel a whole lot better. I hate Shakopee.

Seems kind of pointless. The reason I hate Shakopee is because it (or anyway, the part of it that surrounds my workplace) is all highways and sewage treatment plants and railroad yards, punctuated by enormous roadblocks like Valleyfair and Canterbury Downs. I suppose if I really wanted to I could drive past the 15 miles of beautiful commuter trails in Minneapolis, park my car in front of a stranger's house or in some huge parking lot somewhere, and ride along major highways for 5 or 10 miles. But why would I want to do that?

I just want to work in Eden Prairie again where there's a nice bike path that lets me both save gas and enjoy nature.

It sounds like you'd have to park & ride from the other direction: as if you lived at work and were commuting to Minneapolis.

Well, yeah, I guess. If I wanted to leave my car in a Park and Ride lot all night and never use it for anything except driving between work and the parking lot.

Yes; that's the down side, and why I wouldn't expect you to do it on a regular basis.
