After the Game Party

Some of the people we know think that an industrial size quantity of perishable food is a nice, thoughtful gift for a party host. Y'know what?  IT'S NOT.

What the f*ck are we going to do with SIX POUNDS of cheap salsa???

Alternatives to Target

Suppose you needed a new coffee maker but didn't want to buy it at Target? Where would you go?

ETA: thanks, everybody.

The one I have now is a dead simple 4-cup Mr. Coffee, and it works fine. Unfortunately, the carafe is cracked and I expect it to fall apart imminently. Amazon sells universal 4-cup carafes by 2 different companies, but judging from the reviews they are both really terrible. How can something as simple as a coffee pot carafe be inadequate, you ask? All it has to to do is:

1) fit under the basket and collect coffee
2) pour

Apparently both brands are so badly designed that they fail requirement #2, leaking or spilling coffee all over the place. Crack product testing, there, youse guys.

Actually, I have been thinking that I might like a coffee pot with a timer so I could be greeted with the smell of fresh coffee when I come down in the morning, so I decided I'd just buy a new one. A timer is pretty cheap, though, so K-Mart probably carries those. It's close by, so maybe I'll check it out. I might check the local hardware store too and see if they have replacement pots.

Four months???

Okay, this one wins hands down for most macabre story of the day.
