Some of the people we know think that an industrial size quantity of perishable food is a nice, thoughtful gift for a party host. Y'know what? IT'S NOT.
What the f*ck are we going to do with SIX POUNDS of cheap salsa???

Date: 2010-08-28 05:57 pm (UTC)I did make a large blender full of gazpacho, but it's not the best gazpacho I ever tasted. I also poured about 3 pints of it into an old deli container and put it in the freezer. Now the damn can is only half full. That's going to be a lot of poached eggs and marinated meat.

I was going to suggest freezing too, but in smaller size containers than 3 cups.
My big gripe about party food is the people who bring those stupid 2-liter bottles, usually of some cheap store brand that no one wants to drink, and usually not chilled, thus reducing the likelihood of anyone even considering opening it. Least of all, of course, themselves.
