Some of the people we know think that an industrial size quantity of perishable food is a nice, thoughtful gift for a party host. Y'know what?  IT'S NOT.

What the f*ck are we going to do with SIX POUNDS of cheap salsa???

We had this problem earlier this summer and we used it to poach eggs for breakfast a couple times and that was really tasty. Basically you heat up the salsa to a simmer with some added broth/tomato sauce/water to thin it out a little. Then add the eggs to the pan and poach.

I suppose you could also use it to marinate some meat for roasting or grilling.

It was sort of a rhetorical question, but both of those recipes are good ideas. :-)

I did make a large blender full of gazpacho, but it's not the best gazpacho I ever tasted. I also poured about 3 pints of it into an old deli container and put it in the freezer. Now the damn can is only half full. That's going to be a lot of poached eggs and marinated meat.

I suppose I should be grateful the salsa vat we were stuck with was actually pretty tasty, if ginormous.

Honestly is that a can of salsa? Does it taste metallic?
