On the mend again

Realizing that my last entry ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger, I thought I would post a quick update on the wireless network that the hospital so thoughtfully provides. R is on the mend again, much better than when I saw him last. Still having some trouble expanding his lungs completely, but he doesn't need the biPAC now. They had him up in a chair again today, doing a few simple PT exercises. Talking is still an effort, but Thorin has him talking about games right now and he is talking more fluently than I've heard since the surgery.
Unless he has another setback he should be off the ICU again tomorrow.

I've been away from LJ for most of the last day and a half, so missed the cliff-hanger until after reading the follow-up. Here's to no more setbacks! I'm glad the hospital and doctors were appropriately on top of Sunday's difficulties, and I'm also glad you were able to stay over when the recovery roller coaster took an unexpected loop-de-loop.
