My Internet is down! And this time it's not my crappy router: it is Qwest. This NEVER happens. Did a Central Office explide from the heat or something? Any other DSL customers offline?

Fortunately Olin was here with his portable hot spot. But he was about to leave for the airport so I used his Internet access to buy myself another $15 worth of 3G for my phone.

FWIW, I'm able to get to my home box from work, so my home Internet is up. I just get copper from Qwest - Visi supplies the rest of my services.

Well, the one time my DSL was down, it was due, in fact, to a fire in their switching station. Or at least a fire alarm. I never found out if it was a real fire.

Huh. We have Qwest too, and our home internet seems to be working all right.

My Qwest DSL has been working fine for me for the past couple of hours, so maybe it's just a partial outage that affects your area's connection but not my area? I'm in downtown Minneapolis.

Hopefully it gets figured out soon.

Must have been a local thing; I noticed no outage here in Richfield.
