Fun but a little on the slow side. It's student performances after all, at a circus school that prides itself on being a non-competitive, self esteem building experience. So there were a handful of astonishing performances, maybe 10-20 very good ones and dozens of kids just dancing around in beautiful costumes.

I think my favorite events were the drapery dancing, the rolling wheels and the trapeze work. My favorite performers were Snow White and the guy that jumped rope in a pushup position. Best costumes: the giant and the little frog prince that sat on his shoulder.

The best picture I managed to take was the tightrope walkers. They were very skilled, but I never could figure out what they had to do with Rapunzel.

Okay, that's pretty good. I'm seeing two guys walking a pipe or something (too straight to be a rope I think?), with another pipe between them, and a guy balancing in a chair on that? That's pretty good.

They're walking on a tightrope - it's a cable or rope, just stretched very tight (the the name). The chair is balanced on a rigid pole strapped to the two walkers. It appeared to be an ordinary wooden chair, balanced precariously on the pole. There was a lot of swaying during the early part of the walk where it looked like they just might all tumble into the net, but they steadied themselves. After that it was actually a bit dull. Amazing that they could do this at all, but not as much fun to watch as tumbling acrobats or trapeze artists.

Often some of the hardest tricks don't look very interesting, I've seen that myself. I think I've seen performers working to make what they're doing seem harder, too.
