Good news and bad news

So I opened my email about 30 minutes ago and was delighted to see a new missive from Health Partners declaring "It's your turn to get vaccinated!" YIPPEE! At last! So I followed the link, logged onto my account, iterated and reiterated that I do not have a history of anaphylactic shock, and got to the list of clinics. I clicked on Methodist Hospital. Sorry, no appointments available, try another clinic. Regions - Sorry, no appointments available, try another clinic. Maple Grove - same. Woodbury - same. Stillwater? nope. New Richmond, Wisconsin? Nope. What is this, some kind of sick joke?

I finally clicked on Amery, Wisconsin, and they had 3 appointment slots open, starting at 5:20 pm. TOMORROW. Okay, I see what's going on. It isn't really "my turn" in the sense that it was Richard's turn. There were 3 slots cancelled or unfilled in a small town in rural Wisconsin and they are offering them to me (but only if find them by randomly clicking on every single clinic). Should I do it? If I wait until Friday when they release the next full set of appointments maybe I can get an appointment near where I live? But considering how my luck tends to run in games of chance.... Oh, fuck, I'll take it.

So tomorrow I get to drive to Wisconsin at rush hour. Wish me luck.
