Minnstf Fire Circle a great success!

Our first "picnic meeting" of the year went off swimmingly at the Crosby Farm Park fire pit in St. Paul (Feb 26). Yes, we had an outdoor meeting in February in Minnesota. The weather was cooperative, with sunny skies and temps peaking in the low 30s. There was enough breeze off the river to make even the mild temps a little chilly, but some of us stuck it out for the whole 4 hours. Thanks to Matt for organizing it and to everyone who attended.

That's my favorite picnic shelter in the St. Paul park system (and much better than anything available in the Minneapolis Parks). Better yet, it was free, because the picnic shelter reservation system doesn't operate in the winter so it's first come first served. In the case of this location, people just keep wandering in and peacefully share the space, like animals at a water hole.

It was a very warm and welcoming space. That fire pit was truly awesome, and well fed while I was there.
