These things are great!

Midland Heating and Cooling dropped off 4 of these dandy little 8" x 10" space heaters on Friday, and I really like them. One of these little guys is more than enough to keep a small bedroom or office completely comfortable. They can't keep up with a large space like our living/dining area, but at least it's above 60 downstairs. I may buy a couple of these to have on hand. 


Man, I sure hope that circuit board does the trick. This is getting really nervewracking.

Aww, so cute. Do they have a tipover switch?

I certainly hope this is the last furnace repair you need for a very long time.

They do have a tipover switch (which took me a while to figure out. They are so little that I kept picking them up to set the controls, which causes them to turn off immediately). They also have a fan-only setting, which makes them useful year round, and a relatively long cord. I liked them so well that I ordered 3 from Amazon after discovering they were marked down from a perfectly reasonable $30 to $17.

Then I read the reviews and discovered a lot of complaints about their durability, specifically the tipover switch failing. But if this is the brand that Midlands has decided to buy in bulk to hand out as loaners they must not be too fragile. Time will tell, I guess.

Yay for not freezing to death in the meantime.

May this be the last repair that this boiler ever needs (because it continues to function well, not because it dies).
