Another weekend slips into obscurity

I seem to be over last week's cold. I did cough for several days, which sometimes turns into winter-long asthma. But the cough seems to be fading away now, so with luck I'm okay for this year. Last week was a Week From Hell at work and I didn't get enough sleep. Friday morning I actually overslept, waking up at about the time I usually leave for work. I can't remember the last time that happened. Fortunately it didn't matter, as I was finished with the Linux class that had been rousting me out of bed early for most of the week. This weekend I slept at least 10 hours a night, which cuts into the weekend surprisingly. Yesterday was so beautiful that I spent a large part of it biking around aimlessly. Ostensibly I was going to yard sales, but I got started so late that they all pretty much closed down halfway through my ride. That's about all I did, though. My brain is still fuzzy from last week, and I didn't feel up to tackling my list of Important Stuff I Need to Do. Today I feel a little more alert, but it's again so pretty out there that I feel compelled to get out and enjoy the weather, not sit around trying to make sense out of my disordered finances or pulling up carpet.
Richard's no fun at all right now. His injured foot is getting better, but not good enough for biking. And now he's got my cold. I'd like to be nurturing, but people with colds are sort of disgusting, frankly. I go with the Golden Rule on this one. When I'm sick I want people to stay the hell away from me. I suspect that Richard prefers being taken care of (I dimly remember that it took a while to train him to stop being attentive when I was sick), but I've already been through this cold once and don't want to trudge through it again from third-person perspective.

Date: 2006-10-01 08:14 pm (UTC)I don't even want people to fetch things for me; I just don't want to have to interact with anybody. I suppose if I were sufficiently sick or hurt that I couldn't get out of bed I would like a little help, but I have never been that sick, thank goodness.
