Do Not Sell My Info
Feb. 1st, 2020 11:49 am I just sent the following email to my state legislators:
If you would like to do likewise and are not quite sure who your state legislators are, you can find that out easily online. If you live in Minnesota you can get that information here.
Since the first of the year I note that many websites now display a link labeled something like "Do Not Sell My Info."
Wow! There is now an easy way to opt out of becoming a commodity for sale to the highest bidder every time I login to a website! Count me in!
Unfortunately, when I click on these links I get a bunch of gobbledygook that comes down to this "Sorry, mate, unless you live in California you are out of luck. We can do anything we want with your personal data. Take it or leave it."
So, here's my question. When is Minnesota going to pass a similar data privacy act? California has led the way - all we have to do is follow their lead. Are you doing anything to address this issue? If not, please consider it.
