Since everybody is showing off their CSA offerings, I'm countering with my weekly purchases at the tiny Kingfield Farmers' Market. I also bought some more basil, but forgot to include it in the picture. I think this is $10 worth of food. Maybe $12 with the basil. The corn was spectacular. It's from that guy down in Shakopee who has the sweetest sweet corn. The most self-indulgent purchase is the tiny garlics ($5/bunch). I've started throwing the entire bud into my Instant Pot stews. I call it "Garlic Surprise."

Looks yummy! I am hoping that my CSA will cough up some sweet corn or I'm going to have to break down and go buy some at a farmers' market too!

What variety of garlic is that, do they say? Does it taste like store-bought (given that store-bought is actually seasonal so there are 2-3 different varieties in the stores depending on time of year)?

I chuckled at "garlic surprise". How does it taste? Does it have other ingredients, besides?

I think that's pretty neat (and was wondering what the "surprise" was. Thanks for filling me in).

I think the woody stalks are the neatest which was why I asked after the variety (I'd use them up that way, too). And cooked garlic is tons milder, indeed.
